We used to fight to be the ones pasting the new ones in the book! And, with 3 girls in the house, we had no shortage of paper dolls. We also would cut pictures of people out of the Sears and Roebuck catalogues to use for our made-up stories. There was always a mom and kids, but not always a dad, because he always seemed to be at work...<br />I bought paper dolls for my daughters too - it was fun reliving my childhood through their eyes.Quilting with Jannettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16603960654710134226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6957256440795827988.post-30998703529327274462011-11-12T18:59:07.095-06:002011-11-12T18:59:07.095-06:00I love the doll house but never had one my Mom was...I love the doll house but never had one my Mom was a single parent but paper dolls and using the catalog and having a whole house of furniture on floor of living room playing for hours was my thing. I remember the green stamps to but I don't think they were quite as big in Canada. We bought Jonah a doll house last Christmas and it has all wooden furniture. I will take a picture of it for you. It helped him a lot to know the different furniture was by feeling it. He played with a lot for about 3 months. So many memories your blog brings back to me Jane. On one blog, they had their doll house hanging on the wall, it looked cute - seems like they had ribbon or sewing notions stored in the rooms. I still have a doll house that is now over 100 years old with all the trimmings, many of which I made.My husband had it sent to storage when we moved back to the rabbit hutch and I have been fretting over it ever since.
