I POSTPONE THIS BLOG HOP FOR MY RECENT BOUT
WITH
STREP...
I've been off the Grid most of last week.
AS of this morning at 10:00, this is what my Tammy Bag looked like...
Plum Pitiful as we say here in the South.
But I AROSE from the Ashes of the sorest throat in recent memory and NOW.....
As of 12:00 a.m my Tammy Bag
looks like This
Where is the Cross Stitching, you ask?
What little is completed....Here it is...pitiful isn't it?
(See my little red erasable dot for the center? That was made 3 weeks ago)
I was getting back in the cross stitching Groove when...BAM...it HIT.
Baby Girl was with me Monday and she came down with Strep on Tuesday. I got slammed on Wed.
I know what all you Go-Getters are thinking....Yes, I can read your minds...and You are Right.
If I hadn't waited so late to get started and planned for the unforseen emergencies that frequently occur at the last minute, I would have finished and been able to post my COMPLETED PROJECT.
JUST FYI: My Dear Mother...God Rest Her Soul...used to give me that advice almost every day of my life. Well, she's Gone to the Church Triumphant...I didn't heed her advice back then and more than likely will die of the affliction called PROCRASTINATION.
It's just the way the Gmama Rolls!
However, I am going to complete my project, make another Tammy Bag....probably 3 more since I have 3 more handles and show you my progress.
In the meantime, I want to Thank, Madame Samm, Brooke, Cori, and ALL our Terrific sponsors for making the magic happen One More Time.
FYI: I'm so Freakin' proud of myself for making that Tammy Bag I could Shout!!! I have been scared to death to tackle the DARN THING even though the directions were excellent. I tend to avoid hard things and I think this was the underlying issue of my procrastination. Anyway, That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I HOPE YOU HAVE VISITED MY COHORTS TODAY AND GIVEN THEM LOTS OF HUGS FOR ACTUALLY FINISHING THEIR PROJECTS. I'M THE "BlACK SHEEP" OF THE GROUP. BUT THEN, I MADE ALL THE OTHER LADIES LOOK SO FANTASTIC!

ReplyDeleteI'm a huge procrastinator too, hope you are feeling better today, love the spring time colors you chose for your Tammy.

ReplyDeleteJane I'm so sorry you've had strep. I'm afraid I'm totally the opposite of you - I'm driven to have things ready a couple of weeks ahead. You might think that's a good thing, but not always. It creates tons of unwanted stress...totally unnecessary most of the time. I love your yellow polka dot with the black trip - so pretty! blessings, marlene

ReplyDeleteSusie
You and I suffer from the same affliction called procrastination. And my mother still lectures me about it! lol I was the same way with my Tammy bag. Never made one, put it off, finally did it for this hop. so glad I did. They are really easy. Hope you're feeling better and on the mend.
ReplyDeleteYour Tammy Bag is lovely and your cross-stitch is off to a great start. Hope you are feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteWe all suffer from that pesky bug called procrastination at times! I too was quite scared, not only of starting the Tammy bag,but of the whole project! However I decided since the only way to get over the fear was to face it…I am proud of you and your Tammy bag too! The start to your x stitch is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell hon, we can't all be in the parade, someone's got to wave from the sidelines. ;) LOL But I think you did a great job with your bag and your stitchin is looking good so far. Hope you continue to feel better. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I understand completely! With the holidays, family, etc. I really put myself in a jam plus I had problems with seeing to do my cRoss stitch. You will get it done. I do hope you and your grand daughter are feeling better. Your bag will wait for you and I know it will turn out beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand about the procrastination....do it all the time!! I seem to work better under stress....but when the unforseen hit, then we are in a bind. Love your Tammy as is....good luck doing another. I have the pattern and am scared of it too! ;)
ReplyDeleteThose things happen. I hope you are feeling well and stitching again soon!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing cuz I've been doing lots of thinking about "procrastination" lately. Mine, not yours! I know it's whenever I feel 'not-up-to-the-task', that I can find all sorts of OTHER THINGS that DEMAND my attention first!! lol So...I'm feeling your predicament and giving you lots of leeway. The bag you completed it totally adorable and is one I'd love to have done. Hope you're now feeling better than ever.
ReplyDeleteLove the way your Tammy came together. Great fabric choices. Good start on the cross stitch. I did mine around a head cold can't imagine trying to work around strep. hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteYour Tammy bag will be awesome when finished. Hope you're on the mend.
ReplyDeleteBa Ba Black sheep-- Just kidding. Love your post. Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat sense of humor!! Despite your setbacks your Tammy Bag is lovely and once you finish the counted cross stitch you will have another fabulous bag. Thanks for sharing. Oh, I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteFunny post... and strep as an adult is NOT FUN...and hurts more than you ever remember doesn't it? So glad you made it on the other side and made such an adorable little bag. Good luck finishing your cross stitch. Looks like you are off to a great start. Hugs ~Cori
ReplyDeleteYou do have a good sense of humor.. we all fall short now and then so don't sweat the small stuff... life is full of larger problems. Be sure to post your Tammy when the cross stitching is finished cause we will all want to see. :)
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are feeling much better!
Get Better, I would be a wreck trying to sew this but you are close to getting it done. Get Better.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you regarding procrastination! Your tammy bag looks gorgeous though. I haven't made one yet.
ReplyDeleteJane...you made me laugh. I'm a procrastinator too. I'm a wee bit better than I was , had too many hiccups in my life lately that is causing me grief. I'm afraid to commit to things. Just to let you know, when I made my first Tammy bag I said it would be my last...I fought with putting on the frame...now I use about 12 safety pins and attach the frame before I start stitching, I also use a rubber needle puller made by Clover to pull the needle through the frame holes especially at the seam areas. I have lost count as to how many I have made...they are the perfect gift...I love them!! Hope you are feeling better....I got sick December 28th and it lasted for 3 weeks, still very tired. Happy stitching, Pauline
ReplyDeleteYou resemble me!! lol. Strep is the worst, I hope you are feeling better. Your bag is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the big polka dots on the yellow background! What a cute bag. I have had strep before and know how miserable it is. I hope you are recovered by now. I didn't join the hop until the middle of December, so I am not as far along as you are. I hope my Tammy turns out as cute as yours.

Oh, thank you for rising from the ashes, Gmama Jane! Your bag is beautiful! And I have no doubt that your cross-stitch will be fabulous too.
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet little polka dot bag. Being sick is never any fun and always comes unplanned. You did some wonderful stitching. I can't wait to see it completed.
ReplyDeleteI think the polka dot fabric you picked it perfect for the spring pattern. It will so pretty when your stitching is dome and you can add it to the bag. Get to feeling better. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have got a great start on your Cross stitching and Tammy Bag. It is going to be lovely. I hope by now you are well on your way to a full recovery. Thank you for being part of this fun hop.
