GMAMA IS BACK!
WHEW! WHAT A 2 WEEK BREAK..OR SHOULD I SAY *BREAK-IN*???
Yep, it was more like a WALK-IN considering our doors were unlocked.
But Geez Louise...WE WERE IN THE BACKYARD!!
My CSI/NCIS crime fighting skills came in handy when I went for the latex gloves before touching anything. After-all I didn't want to disturb the crime scene with my own fingerprints! It didn't matter in the long run because evidently this robbery wasn't the thieves' "first rodeo" if you know what I mean. They wore Gloves!!... Left some industrial glue type substance from construction gloves. They had obviously moved several large items earlier that morning on their little crime spree.
#1 husband and I plus Sidekick Scott were approx. 50 yds. back from the house, close to the barn, drinking some ice water. PaPaw cut brush while Scott and I watched a little mama red bird search for her nest in the cut limbs....20-30 minutes at most...walked back to the house...Papaw goes upstairs to take a shower...I go in to the den to turn on Cartoons for Scott...NO TV!!!!!!
GRANDMAMA, "WHERE IS THE TV???"
SCOTT, "I CAN'T WATCH SUPER HEROES, GRANDMAMA!"
CLOMP CLOMP CLOMP (That's ME CLOMPING upstairs, 2 at a time)
GRANDMAMA (YELLING OVER THE RUNNING SHOWER), "WE"VE BEEN ROBBED!!!"
PAPAW, "WHAT??????????????????????????????"
GRANDMAMA, (JERKING SHOWER CURTAIN BACK AND YELLING LOUDER), "WE'VE
BEEN ROBBED!!!!!! THE BIG SCREEN TV IS GONE AND THEY'VE
BEEN IN MY UNDERWEAR DRAWER!"
PAPAW (STILL IN SHOWER) "SOMEONE STOLE YOUR UNDERWEAR????"
GRANDMAMA, "YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR GUNS!" ................................
NOW!!!! I HAVE HIS ATTENTION! HE SCRAMBLES OUT OF SHOWER
DRIPPING WET, RUNS TO DRESSER DRAWER WHERE HE KEEPS
A LOADED PISTOL.
PAPAW, "JANE! WE'VE BEEN ROBBED!"
WHAT CAN I SAY???? WE BOTH NEED HEARING AIDES!!

GOOD TO BE BACK
BLESSINGS
Oh Jane, I am so sorry that your were robbed. It happened to us, decades ago, but that awful feeling in your gut stays for a long time. Now we live in a small town, but my hubby insists on locking the doors, even when we are in the backyard. Perhaps it is best that no body was in the house, at least no body was hurt. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYikes, Jane! How's I miss your robbery? Y'all have no end to excitement (and not necessarily the healthy, happy kind) at your place, do you?! I'm coming by this week ... I've got to get this stuff to you!! Hugs! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I'm so sorry Jane. Yes it is great that no one confronted them and possibly got hurt. Things can be replaced, people can't.
ReplyDeleteI remember how violated I felt when one day this happened to me, except I wasn't home at the time. You were pretty lucky that no one went into the house and surprised them! There's no telling what might have happened! Who'd ever think, huh?
ReplyDeleteso sorry you got robbed in broad daylight aswell, but the hearing aide at the end of your story made me laugh, hugs to you both and hope they catch them soon.
ReplyDeleteOh snap! I have never had my house robbed, but I was mugged once. It is so scary. I hope you are having bad dreams. I am a compulsive "locker" - I lock doors when I am visiting. When I walk in Mama's house, I lock the door behind me - and at other friends' houses too. (Maybe I am a little OCD about it, after being mugged.)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that you've experienced a robbery...but you made lemons out of lemonade by the giggles heard around blogland with the shower story! Take care...
ReplyDeleteOh Jane, I'm so sorry to hear that!! It's awful what people will do and how bold they are. So glad none of you were hurt though. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteOh my word... I am sorry to hear you were robbed but thank you for the good giggle. I have to say the guns scare me the most. My Brother was robbed three Easters agonand they took his small gun safe (obviously not boltedndown) and got his two guns. Very scarry that they are now out there in the hands of hoodlums!
ReplyDeleteOh, sweetie - how horrible. I echo everyone, glad you are all safe.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That is awful. I am glad that the only things taken were replaceable and that no harm came to you or your family.
ReplyDeleteHow awful! I am sorry that happened. If they were so seasoned, it might be good no one walked in and discovered them? I hope they are caught and am glad you weren't hurt!
ReplyDeleteSeriously!! WOW!! Glad you are all ok!!
ReplyDeleteWow....that was a bold robbery. We've been there and I know those dreadful feelings you are having. I'm glad you are all okay.
ReplyDeleteHow brazen can these scumb get? Maybe it was a good thing you were all in the back yard, no telling what could have happened!
ReplyDeleteoh no I am so sorry to hear about that!!!
ReplyDeleteThey must have been pretty desperate to go in while you were in the yard. I'm so glad you're okay - missing "stuff" is bad but nothing compared to our bodies! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteOh MAN! I'm hopin' that they didn't get your computer, too. Bad enough to get T.V. and guns. Did they get any panties? Thanks for the grins, and I am so sorry y'all were robbed. Hope you get your stuff back.
ReplyDeleteHow awful -- but I agree with everyone else...glad that you were not harmed. Sure hope nothing like that happens again, and that they catch the no-good-niks!
ReplyDeleteMy gosh!! That's so scary!! Thank goodness that no one caught them in the act-- someone may have been really hurt.. I really despise people who think they have a right to take things from hard working people... :-(
ReplyDeleteGood thing you were out of harms way at the barn. However, your story is written too funny. I tried not to laugh and did pretty good until PaPaw thought they stole your underwear....or maybe they did. Glad you are safe.
ReplyDeleteOh geez...I'm sorry that happened to you. Out of something so sad came something so good....my laughter at your story!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Kelly
OH NO! Have you have any news?
