MY #1 TRACTOR MAN NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS!
I NEED YOUR PRAYERS!
The phone call began like this..."Your test results came back from your thyroid ultrasound and you have a nodule on your thyroid over 1 centimeter in size. Dr. Johnson wants to have it biopsied ASAP. Hold on and I'll transfer you to scheduling."
I could see the look in his eyes and on his face. Roger is the glass half full kinda guy and usually doesn't allow himself to worry much. If he does worry, he keeps it to himself. So I knew when that face went white as a sheet, I knew the Big Guy was scared. I rarely have seen that face and when I do it scares the "you know what" outta me! Excuse me, but it's the truth. When everything is falling apart, Roger is the one who keeps his cool and makes everyone feel safe. He's the Rock! He's the Captain of the Ship!
He told me in a passing comment last week , "Jane, I don't have a good feeling about that test." It surprised me so much I didn't know exaclty what to say. All I could say was, "Let's not borrow trouble." and that was the last anything was said
until today......
Yeah, I know, I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill. But you see, It's just not like #1 to respond like this! Even as I write, he's out in his Barn..the place he goes to work, to think, to pray, to worry.
Monday morning at 7:00 a.m *we* go for a biopsy. Whatever the results, this is happening to BOTH of us, not just one of us. The biopsy is an in-office procedure....no big deal. But My guy is scared and therefore it IS a Big Deal.
Please Pray...Prayer Changes Things.
Blessings
My thoughts, prayers and well wishes!
ReplyDeletePraying right now for you both. For peace during the uncertain times we face. He knows all...in the good times and bad. We can rest in that fact...:)
ReplyDeletexoxo...Gloria
p.s. please pray for my mom, on Monday she has her first radiation treatment for breast cancer. Thank you so much!!
Sending all good thought to you and your husband for Monday's procedure. Take care, Sheila
ReplyDeleteLike you said I am sure it is nothing but better to be doing the test than doing nothing! i will add him to my prayers for sure :)
ReplyDeletePrayers are with you....but don't worry; I had this a few years ago. I noticed this large lump on my neck. That's just what it was; same as your husband has.
ReplyDeleteThey did surgery; which wasn't bad at all, and it was nothing!!!! I don't even have to take medication or anything...the other gland was fine. nothing to it!! take care
Absolutely! My prayers are for you and Roger.
ReplyDeleteI am praying now and will continue to hold both of you in prayer. I know you are feeling with all the medical issues my #! husband has been through during the past three years.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers and happy outcome thoughts will be with you - growing older and dealing with health issues (not to mention Medicare) is not for wimps. Some days I just have to accept that my health is running my life - and try to do what it tells me - naps are no longer out of the question. Judy C

ReplyDeleteDear Jane,
ReplyDeleteYour sweet husband (and you) have been added to my prayers. These things are so hard to deal with, and while we want to be in control, we are best to turn them over to God.
I'll be praying for you and will look forward to your post so we know how to pray after the biopsy.
Hugs and prayers.
Jane I am praying for strength and comfort for you both while you wait until the biopsy is done.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers to you both...about 25 years ago I noticed my neck was thick...I had an ultra sound on my thyroid and they found a nodule but they never did a biopsy. They just did regular blood testing to watch my levels for a number of years...but when my son was diagnosed with cancer, the stress sent my thyroid to extreme levels. They did not do surgery, they gave me a radio active treatment and now I think the surgery would have been better, I no longer have a thyroid, as the radio active treatment destroyed not only the nodule, but the whole thyroid. Now I take medication every day. Positive thoughts are coming your way!!
ReplyDeleteThoughts are with you both!!
ReplyDeleteI've lifted you up Jane - both of you. I had the same thing happen to me years ago - have had thyroid surgery twice. Mine was not cancer and though sometimes it is I believe that is rare. The surgery is an easy one if he needs to have it. Please let me know. You know I'll be thinking about you. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYou have my thoughts and prayers. I had my thyroid removed about 18 months ago because of a growth - the Dr said it was pretty icky but no cancer, usually there isn't - and I had 2 biospys before my ENT took it out. Keep the faith
