INDOOR FLAG FLYING TODAY

WAVING MY FLAGS

My Patriotic Flag.
(The true colors are a much richer red, brighter royal blue)
There are 64, 3x4, rectangles sewn and folded into this star! I started this project at my Sassy Sewer Retreat in January not knowing what I was going to do with it.  I decided to add borders and make a flag for my front entrance.  I have yet to add the laminate to both sides.  I found the laminate at my local Hancock Fabrics.

A closer look at each fold.  The pattern is found at Moda
Fancy Folded Star.

GET  DRESSED
This design is in part from a dress pattern given to us by Madame Samm
approximately 4 yrs ago.
I loved the dress patterns but never got around to using them until now.  Since I am remodeling my large dining room into my new sewing room, I like the idea of using this dress pattern as part of my room design... Oh yes, there will be MORE of these!

Rainy days don't make for great photos...sorry!
Check out the background fabric I found....Looks like the instructions inside a dress pattern.  Hmmm....I'm getting some new ideas even as I post these pictures...I can envision some painting on one of my walls using this idea???  Are you with me??  Any good sewing room ideas?
BRING 'EM ON!!

MAKING A MARRIAGE LAST OR....

HOW TO KEEP THE HOME FIRES BURNING

Tractor Man came inside THIS AFTERNOON to deliver these....
Y'all, he looked just like a little 9 yr. boy bringing his girlfriend a bouquet of just picked flowers!
My Heart went Pitter Patter...even after 41 yrs.
(note to young couples:  this is HOW you keep the home fires burning thru the good and the bad)

So many young couples ask my husband and I just HOW we have stayed together for 41 yrs.  I tell them that marriage takes a love of God, work, time together, and LOTS of laughter.  A Bouquet of fresh picked yellow Daffodils from the farm are more priceless than Two Dozen Roses from the fanciest Florist in town!!!

Men, THIS HOW it's Done!!

I'm a Lucky Lady!

Blessings

HAPPY TRAILS

WHERE DO HORSES GO?

A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT FRIEND
BUCK

(Disclaimer, I had to use a computer image of a horse looking like Buck because I could NOT find a picture of Buck in all my collection of web pictures. Boo Hoo)

On this farm we have buried many a pet but never a horse.  Dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, birds, goldfish, rabbits, goats, but NEVER a Horse!  I guess I had never thought much about it since Buck has been here for 27 yrs and none of us can imagine looking out toward the back pasture and not seeing Buck!  Today, I only see a large backhoe digging your grave and tears fall.

Buck was 3 or 4 yrs. old when he came to live here on The Farm.  A beautiful Buckskin youngster with a gentle spirit, curiosity of a cat, white mane, and an air about him that told you he knew THIS was home, You were His and He was Yours.  Horses came and went over the years but Buck was constant.  Offers to buy, sell, or trade remained that...Offers...nothing more.  After all, how could you take the Prince away from his castle?  Buck mentored all the other horses who came to live here for a time.  Some he accepted others he didn't.  You could pretty much tell the value/quality of a horse by the way Buck took to him/her.

Springtime and A new baby was a source of immediate curiosity and the paternal nature would be revealed in his protective response.  After all, this was His Home and everything thing and everyone who lived here belonged to Him.

Yes, Buck, you captured our hearts from the first week you came to us.  None more than the heart of Tractor Man, who lovingly fed you daily.  You looked forward to your time with him.  Truth be told, I imagine you know more of Tractor man's secret heartaches than I will ever know.  You were a constant companion and confidante, ready to simply LISTEN when listening was all that was needed.  You heard more of my husband's troubles, sorrows, and ponderings than did anyone else.

Thank you for always loving us, for protecting us, for all the times you bore us on your back, and most of all the Friendship you gave so unconditionally for the past 27 years.  As I watch you being laid to rest beside the barn on the Farm you called Home for 27 yrs., I realize I will never see you again.  That pasture will be forever empty of your presence...that beautiful white mane flowing in the wind in younger years when you loved to race with the other horses.  You always won!

Today I am also reminded that as much as you were loved Buck, God did not create you with an eternal soul.  I am grateful that a hole in the ground is not the end for me.  I have an eternal home in Heaven with my Sweet Jesus.  Perhaps, just perhaps, on God's New Earth, I could wish to see you running in the wind just one more time.

HAPPY TRAILS OLD FRIEND

May We Meet Again

Lovingly,
Your family
