SLOW DOWN...TO EVERY THING THERE IS A SEASON........

Rush HOUR Schedule

SLOW DOWN

I'm SEW glad you slowed down and stopped by to see my RUSH HOUR Projects.  I really got into this lovely fabric and had a Plethora of ideas but not sew much on TIME.

Their Fabric is Red
Gray,Black, and White Too
I Love Studio E Fabrics
How About You??

I call this my  TURN TURN TURN Quilt/Duvet Cover
Some of you may remember the song from the 60's
Rushing through our days made me think of this beautiful Scripture

Not very Professional, but I just couldn't crop out those sweet little Granddaughter legs peeking out at the bottom of this quilt.
She was trying so hard to help Grandmama show off the Turn Turn Turn  Quilt/Duvet Cover.  9 yr. old Emma comes to sew with me most every Sunday Afternoon.

Hand Embroidered Scripture...Ecclesiastes 3:1

RUFFLES

Fabric Box & Pin Cushion

MORNING COFFEE CUP COZY

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???
LOL!!! I HAD TO SHOW YOU MY FIRST GLASS COZY!!
It suits my personality so I'm keeping it just the way it is!
A lot more fun to look at, don't you think? It will make me smile as I drink my OJ.

QUILT BACKING & PIN CUSHION

Since I retired 6 yrs. ago after a 30+yr. as an educator, one thing I value the most is NOT having to RUSH.  I can make my own schedule, take a nap, spend time with those I love, create items from fabric either by hand or at my sewing machine, enjoy a morning cuppa on the front porch swing, listen to the birds, bake treats for my family, sew with my Granddaughter, watch my Grandsons play flashlight tag at dusk all from the comfort of my swing, rock my 1 month old adopted grandson, read books with my James, share with you on my blog, or simply do nothing if I so choose.

I'm working as fast as my little short crooked fingers can sew...Sunday is when I had planned to take my blog pictures and it is supposed to come a 'gully washer" of a rain.  Oh Dear, Oh My, what is a Girl to do?
Get OFF the computer, Jane Ellen (what I was called by my mother and what I am called by family and closest friends) and get to work!!
It's Rush Hour for sure..........
Check back on Monday to see if I make it!
Rush HOUR Schedule

I'm participating in Another Great Blog Hop !!!!  Blog Hops push me out of my comfort zone and make me try new techniques and fabric I  wouldn't ordinarily choose on my own.  I NEVER wish I had not participated.

Why don't some of YOU try hopping with us?  Trust me, when I jumped in I couldn't even bind a quilt the correct way but I learned from my new quilting friends here at Sew We Quilt! You have found a SAFE place to show us your stuff!  If you don't have a blog, Madame Samm and the Blog Hop Cheerleader will work with you on a way to overcome that obstacle.  If there is a way you can post on my blog, we can work it out (hint to my friend, Sandra D., you know who you are!!!)

Thanks to CAROL our CHEERLEADER
YOU'VE DONE A FABULOUS JOB OF ORGANIZING

THANKS TO MADAME SAMM

SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER...GINGHAM STYLE

SEPTEMBER
IS
HERE

I've been busy with Gardening and Quilting
this Summer.
My Brand new Grandson was adopted into our family and RJ is now with his FOREVER FAMILY. Big Brother James is Thrilled! RJ was a pre-birth adoption and my DD and SIL brought him home from the hospital 10 days ago!
I'm going to keep my comments short and sweet because you are here to look at pictures....I know how it is, you're trying to blog hop, drink your coffee, get ready for work (unless you're retired, like ME!!), catch up on the morning news, eat breakfast, feed the dogs/cats, put in a load of laundry, fold some towels, etc...  All you want to see are the projects.  So here tis!! (and I forgot pictures of all the NICU blankets
I made ....Oh well.)

BABY CRIB EYE CANDY
This little jewel is going to hang on the side of my new Grandson's crib! Black, White, and Red make the best color contrasts for infant eyes, especially those first few months.  Did you know that?

Gingham is PERFECT for Baby Eye Candy

Pattern is "Great Granny Block"
Riley Blake Gingham...is there any other kind??

Grandson James's K Teacher's Quilt

RETRO APRON
for Granddaughter
I found this apron in a bag of aprons that belonged to a good friend's mother who passed away.
Once my friend Jan monogrammed it after I altered the apron to fit E.G., it was perfect and she loves it!

Fabric Box
oops, picture is blurry...these are so fun to make.
!

Mini Quilt in Hangar is from Sharon Vroomsman in a Doll Quilt Swap!
Isn't it adorable?  I wish I could claim it but alas I can not....paper piecing is NOT my gift!

DOLL QUILT VINTAGE
I made this for another Doll Quilt Swap Partner.
