NANCY "SUE" SLEUTH
(ode to Vintage Sunbonnet Sue)
IS
HOT
FOR CLUES...
Here's Why
I am getting ready to spend a week in The Great Smokey Mountains
at the
19th Annual Mountain Quiltfest
I'm taking a 2 day class from
Author Harriet Hargrave, HEIRLOOM MACHINE QUILTING
AND
I needed a portable ironing pad for my sewing area.
Voila!
(psst: ignore the incorrect time stamps)
My IRONING PAD IS MADE USING THE NANCY DREW FABRIC
AND INSUL-BRITE! THIS SPECIAL BATTING MAKES IT HEAT RESISTANT AND PERFECT AS A PORTABLE IRONING SURFACE
FOR MY QUILTFEST CLASS W/ MS. HARRIET HARGRAVE!
For all the QUILT Pictures my Coolpix Nikon camera will be taking, I made this
*cool* little Camera Holder
That's ALL for me this Go Round...I've been too busy preparing for my Quilting Week. MY Blog Hop projects had to fulfill a practical purpose, no fru-fru on this trip!
Big Shout-Out to Madame Samm and Carol for CHEERING US ON!

ReplyDeleteGreat Sue ironing pad. And your camera bags a neat, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the ironing pad- did you need to add a second layer of batting to the insulbrite?
ReplyDeleteYes, Agnes, I did!! I made sure the shiny side was together in the middle between the two soft sides...did that make sense? It's hard to give good directions on paper. It works like a charm!

ReplyDeletesue lthy very clever! and great projects too. Have fun on your get a way!
ReplyDeleteYour ironing pad is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThe ironing pad is cute and made in a timely manner too. Harriet Hargrave spoke at our guild in IL years ago. Also someone in the Peoria area was a devotee and had contributed to that book. I took a class from the devotee as did others in the guild. I know you are going to have a blast at your quilting event.
ReplyDeleteLove the ironing mat! Have fun using it at your retreat!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! Your ironing pad will be the hit of the class. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLove you quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love that you made stuff for your trip!! Especially for your iron. Thank you for sharing it with us and have a fun and safe trip!!

Love the ironing pad and SI is ADORABLE. We have 3 Border Collies. Thay are terrific!! Have fun in the Smokies!
ReplyDeleteLove your Nancy-Sue ironing pad. Enjoy the Mtn Quiltfest. My girlfriend and I traveled to Tennessee 6 years ago to the Quiltfest and enjoyed every minute of it. Maybe someday we do it again.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Jane - I love this idea! It is so cute and so useful - everyone at my quilt retreat would be jealous, so of course I must make one. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteThe original idea happened due to a "mistake" I was making a Table Topper and mistakenly used Insul Brite for my Batting rather than plain batting. Well...wouldn't you know, it turned out that I could put hot plates on the table! I was thrilled! That's what gave me the idea for a portable ironing pad and it works great!!!
