Here is Tuesday's Blog Hopping Schedule
Tuesday April 17th

I received several heartfelt responses from my post on Sunday about my Fibromyalgia.  There are many of us in the quilting world who share our LOVE of Quilting/Stitching/Sewing along with our utter contempt for our little Fibro Friend. Can I get a Whoop Whoop???

Have you had NON Fibro sufferers give you advice on how to feel better?  Well, I've got one for ya....right from the left side of my own pillow.  Yes, I do mean #1 Husband has now decided that all I need is to drink some G2 Gatorade and I will be well!!  Coming from a lifetime of football coaching it makes sense to him that my aches and pains are nothing any different from the leg cramps football players get in a game due to loss of electrolytes or lack of sufficient conditioning enough during practice or even from the heat!

Nothing would do but stop at the store after church Sunday and buy me some Gatorade, G2 which is the sugarfree (I'm also diabetic).
Well, now that I have your attention and you are waiting on baited breath to see if
#1 Husband has found the Fibro Cure..........

Just know that I'm still on the injured reserve list and won't be game ready
before FALL 2030!!! much less Game ready TODAY!  The only thing that improved was the number of times I had to go to the bathroom from drinking all that gatorade!
Geeze Louize...
that man thinks of everything in terms of a sports metaphor!

ANYHOO...
Enjoy some seriously awesome Table-toppers
AND
FRIDAY, is MY DAY to show off MY TABLETOPPER &
You know it will have something to do with one of the Grandpeeps.

Blessings

  1. I know that Vitamin B12 works for me - but it an injection in your rear end that HURTS!!!!
If your levels are in the low range of normal it might help.
    Glad you are feeling better.

  2. Ah yes, the ever helpful non-fibro person this will help all your aches and pains type person. (groan) The latest one I have heard is to go an a gluten free diet, since wheat causes inflammation, and all will be well. The only thing I have found that works, is to accept that it is, and to get on with life and live with it, and try to ignore it as much as possible. And when it says"I've got you today, and you're not doing anything", to listen to it, take the day or 2 to recover, while reading, or doing hand needle work, or something similar, so that the time recovering is still spent doing something enjoyable, rather than pushing on anyway, because that means more than a day or 2 to recover. (Hows that for a run on sentence. LOL) A really bad day is one where not even reading or needle work is possible. I'm thankful that in my life those don't come too often.

  3. Jane, I too am in a fibro fog! To add to the fibro issues, I have lost a lens from my glasses, so until the new one arrives, I am having to cope with blurry vision and the headaches that it produces. I wish gatorade or windex or something would take away the pain. I Have started taking Vitamin B-6 & B-12, Pharmaceutical grade Fish Oil, along with a multi-vitamin. If I could be on a heating pad or an ice pack all day, I think that I would be ok. But that's not living. My hubby was a career investigator for FDA. He just shakes his head when he sees me try something new. He has no clue. I am using a cane on many days and he just walks ahead of me most of the time. He has no clue! Thanks for letting me complain.

  4. Oh dear Jane that is something that my husband would say. As all Fibro people know everyone is great at giving advice. If I had all the money that I have spend in the last 20 years looking for something to help me I would be able to go on a luxury cruise around the world twice. I agree with Cathy the only thing that works is to live your life as best as you can and listen to your body as it will tell you what you can and can't do. My husband is wonderful but sometimes when he says to me "Do you ache today" as if that was all it was. Then there is a friend who tells me I am getting stronger because I look after my five year old grandson three days a week but she doesn't see my after he goes home. I do it because i love him and my daughter needs my help. I could rave on but that doesn't help so I just hope Jane and the others just keep on keeping on. Blessings Sandra

  5. Hi Jane. I too am in the Fibro Fog. What makes me better is sitting in the bath with the water at just that right temperature. Now, if we could only figure out a way, as quilters/sewists/artists/inventors to make some sort of quilty thingy to have that water surround us 24/7, and stay the right temperature always, life would be perfect!
